When building a team the first thing you must do is determine your strengths and weaknesses. You must be very honest with yourselves and your fellow teammates when assessing your abilities. If you are falling down in one area, you need to admit it, and strategically plan a set of goals to overcome these challenges.
You and your teammates must also know what you're good at and what you aren't, so you can capitalize on your experience and your strengths. You must become better at those things you do best and when your team needs you in a pinch, you can come through with flying colors every time without fail, as if it is a reflex. And if each one of your teammates knows where you are most challenged they are more apt to be there to cover for you just in case.
When working on a team failure is not an option. You must work together and help each other where you can, and be able to rely on other teammates with the confidence that they will perform, or even score a goal. The trick to assessing your abilities and capitalizing on your experiences when building a team is all about honesty and integrity of the skill level of each player and your own self assessments.
